What makes the AP Perfecting skincare range different?
Beginning with the AP Perfecting Serum, this new portfolio includes products specifically designed for pigmentation on the body, face, neck and decolletage, and around the delicate eye area. Featuring the targeted anti-pigmentation ingredient complex AP Perfecting Complex, which is made of three specific actives known to mitigate pigmentation individually, but when formulated together, they have been shown to be even more effective!
Each potent active is encapsulated within overlapping Lamellar gel structures that anchor beneath the skin surface where they are slowly released throughout the day and night for superior, longer-lasting results.
What are the actives within the AP Perfecting Complex?
All new products in the range have a core formula of pigmentation-targeting actives. The “better together” 3-ingredient core formula are:
N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG) –A glucosamine that naturally occurs throughout the body and in the skin is a combination of amino acid and sugar. Best known for its hydration properties NAG has the ability to stimulate Hyaluronic Acid production as well as being a powerful antioxidant.
Niacinamide – A multifunctional, skincare hero ingredient which helps to support: hydration retention, barrier repair, improving fine lines, elasticity, wrinkles, pigmentation, preventing collagen loss, and reducing acne! This giant amongst actives promotes an even skin tone by targeting discolouration, pigmentation, and age spots.
Hexylresorcinol – Known for its skin brightening properties this signature SkinSense active helps to reduce the appearance, and inhibit, the formation of dark spots.
Are there clinical studies to support the SkinSense AP Perfecting range?
Yes, some of the best studies of NAG show the combination of Niacinamide with NAG has been shown to achieve greater results in reducing hyperpigmentation:
“In an 8-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled, left-right randomised, split-face clinical test, topical 2% NAG reduced the appearance of facial hyperpigmentation. In a second clinical study involving the topical combination of 2% NAG with 4% niacinamide, an agent previously shown to be clinically active, the effect on hyperpigmentation was greater” *
